Heavier stock moves less
Thin decorative paper expands noticeably when wet glue hits it. Cardstock and heavier textured sheets move far less and are much more forgiving of a generous application. If you like wet adhesive, buy heavier paper rather than changing technique.
Tooth decides what will sit on top
A smooth coated sheet resists pencil and takes stamping ink cleanly. A toothy uncoated sheet grabs graphite and pastel and drinks ink. Neither is better, but planning what goes on the page first tells you which one to buy.
Dry adhesive for thin paper
