Expand your crochet skills as you take on a super fun, retro granny motif: flowers!
In one three-hour session, you'll learn:
- How to create a flower shape with granny techniques
- How to crochet in the round
- How to connect squares to create blankets, accessories, and more
- How to experiment with color combinations for appealing results
- How to choose the right yarn
You'll leave with a 1-2 finished motifs (depending on skill level/speed) and the know-how to make more, so you can be on your way to stitching anything and everything, including the bag shown in the photo above!
*****Basic crochet skills are a minimum requirement to attend this workshop.***** If you are a newbie or think you might need a refresher, join us for Crochet 101 first-- register here for our next session. Experience with basic granny squares will be very helpful!
Materials:
Materials needed for class are available to be purchased at our shop in person or online as a local pick up order at a 10% student discount. Please note, within 24 hrs of registering for the workshop, you will receive the discount code for the materials needed. For your Flower Squares you will need:
- At least one ball of Shiny Happy Cotton Note that 3 colors/ balls are needed to create the square as shown in the class posting. If you would like to work toward the full bag shown in the class photo, you will need 2 balls background/ strap color, 2 balls petal color, and 1 ball flower center color (5 balls total). Depending on your speed/ skill level, you can expect to complete 1-2 flower squares during class, but will receive the full pattern & instructions for making the bag on your own.

Meet Your Instructor
Grace Bilbao is a fiber enthusiast currently living and working in Brooklyn. Originally from North Carolina, she graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelors in Art & Design. Her interest in fibers began after being taught how to crochet by her Grandmother, and after what was an obsessive hobby became a meditative practice that she hopes to share with others.
